This Sunday morning where most life is quieter in the cities and the suburbs; people are attending mass, grocery shopping, preparing for the work week, and resting on Sunday.
There was a shooting in Lexington, Ky where Olympic Sprinter Tyson Gay’s 15-year-old daughter was shot and was taken to University of Kentucky Medical Center where Fayette County coroner’s office pronounced Trinity Gay died at the hospital.
The sprinter’s agent, Mark Wetmore, confirmed in a text message to The Associated Press that Gay’s daughter was killed.
Officials said the Lexington police went to the parking lot of a restaurant, after witnesses reported gunfire exchanged between two vehicles. Officers located one of the vehicles and stopped two people for questioning.
Tyson Gay has competed in the last three Summer Olympics. He was part of a team that won a silver medal in the 4×100-meter relay at the 2012 London Games.
Investigators are now in the process investigating this killing. Who was involved and why did someone cause this senseless tragedy. Trinity Gay was just a child, only 15-years-old. I like to extend our condolences to Mr. Tyson Gay and his family for the loss of their precious daughter.
