NewsJustIn: The Supreme Court makes the final decision.
In a 5 to 3 ruling, the Supreme Court ruled against Texas‘ law that would have forced the closure of around three-quarters of the state’s abortion clinics. This decision upholds the law for a woman’s right to make that choice for herself.
The fact remains that this is truly the hardest decision a young girl or woman has to make in their life. Years ago when there were only a handful of doctors across the country, women would have to hide and drive long distances to have an illegal abortion performed. Many of these locations were not clean and/or medical tools were not properly disinfected and often the person performing the abortion was not a certified doctor. After the abortion women would return home to heal, unfortunately unbeknownst to some of them they started to have a fever, then an infection, then they bleed to death. It was a much more traumatic set of circumstance adding to the hardest and most difficult decision of a woman’s lives.
