For Meryl Streep and all Women:
“This was me on my way home from an audition for King Kong where I was told I was too “ugly” for the part. This was a pivotal moment for me. This one rogue opinion couldn’t derail my dreams of becoming an actress and forced me to pull myself up by the boot straps and believe in myself. I took a deep breath and said “I am sorry you think I am too ugly for your film, but you’re just one opinion in a sea of a thousands and I’m off to find a kinder tide.” Today Meryl Streep has 18 Academy Awards.
My response to Meryl Streep on behalf of all beautiful women on this planet.
“Meryl all the other opportunities made up for just one audition that couldn’t bring themselves to understand there is beauty in all women of any color. I think King Kong would have fallen in love you either way. How unfortunate that today more than ever everything and everyone is based on a more perfect you. The appearance of someone due to some augmentation through plastic surgery, botox injections (fillers) and women looking rail thin. I’d like to see if I can start the dialogue to change these constraints and limitations that really do nothing for all the talent that is never given the opportunity. I being one myself. ~ Natalie Keshing, Editor & Chief natswritings.com
