“There was so much to love, her golden hair, her green eyes, her formality and her mystery remained in the depths of his unconditional love for her.” ~ Natalie
The English Patient: When two strangers meet, for whatever reason or circumstances, the deep attraction comes out of nowhere and neither is prepared for this. They may not be able to identify why the attraction is so compelling and of course unique. From her eyes looking deeply into his and his soul. Then his looking into hers; regardless the dance has already begun. Regardless of circumstances, commitments, and challenges; this might turn out to be the biggest challenge of their lives. To continue to live in the life they’ve chosen, but yearn and desire for the life they so desperately wanted and needed.
She, as a wife was already committed to her husband. Was she? Only pretending to be by her husband’s side? For he was more than a good man with all his wonderful support and love and he was infinitely convinced it was all because of her. She gave him the strength, the ideas, the support of her inimitable love and grace. He loved her completely, unconditionally. He understood that from the beginning she was the kind of woman who needed her freedom to explore and of course to share with him. No other man cherished her like a gift from heaven. There was so much to love, her golden hair, her green eyes, her formality and her mystery remained in the depths of his unconditional love for her. He never tired of her. He would say, “I love you darling.” She responded, “Yes, I know you do. You love me because I don’t nag you.” and they both would laugh.
This new man was intense for all purposes. Something was broken inside of him. He had traveled throughout the world not knowing or understanding what exactly was missing from his life. Not the kind of man to settle down in one place and start a family. Most of his affections for women came out of the necessity and need to satisfy a whim; after all he was a man. But she was entirely different when he first laid his eyes on her. Beautiful, talented, mysterious and very married. He didn’t see or understand why would she unintentionally cast her spell on him. But she did and nothing would stop him to know her and for the first time to love something more than himself.
A timeless magnificent piece that never loses it’s undeniable power pulling at our heartstrings. ~ Natalie
