Three Bombings at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport the third busiest airport in Europe.
Three bombings have occurred at the Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport. Three suicide bombers were reported and at least thirty -> thirty eight->forty one have died from the original number of ten. Thirteen of the dead were not Turkish they were from other countries; of these countries there were 5 from Saudi Arabia, 2 from Iraq, China, Jordon, Tunisia, Iran, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and 1 woman who was Palestine. Over 239 people have been injured/wounded from the bombing explosions. Our hearts go out to all the families of the dead and the people in the hospital who remain badly injured from the bombings. The explosions occurred at the airport’s international arrival terminal. Authorities are now reporting this might be an ISIS terrorist attack, but still have not officially confirmed this. Senior US official said the attack “Fits the ISIS profile”.
Their should be heightened security in place for the other two major airports, Charles De Gaulle in Paris and Heathrow Airport in England. All metro systems in Europe should also have higher security control.
It is very important that officials investigate all of the airport’s camera footage to try to identify the three suicide bombers.
Turkey’s history also involves opposition from two other fighting groups from the Kurdistan parties in the South East that have been trying to establish themselves as a separate country. There is a long history of these kinds of fighting so the question here is whether the attack in Turkey was carried out by the Kurdistan Worker’s Party PKK, Kurdistan Freedom Hawks TAK, or ISIS. It has been noted that if ISIS starts to lose their territorial space in Syria, you will start to see more of these independent suicide bombings throughout Europe to maintain their terrorist profile.
The FAA has now grounded all US flights to Turkey.
Many people recorded through their phones the destruction of the bombings. So familiar after the bombing attacks at the airport and metro systems in Brussels, Belgium. People were running to hide and be safe after the explosions took place.
Four armed men were reportedly seen running away from the terminal building after the explosions. Turkish MP Eren Erdem said in his Twitter feed that the blasts were suicide bomb attacks. Stay tune for more information.
