Update information. The terrorist attack investigation in Barcelona, Spain is clearly expanding. ISIS did claim the attackers are “Soldiers of the Islamic State”. It has now been reported that a house with a bomb(s) was supposed to be used today in Barcelona but the bomb exploded in the house killing one terrorist and leaving one injured. Spanish police has just confirmed they have killed four Jihadist suspects involved in this horrible terrorist attack south of Barcelona.

“It was reported a huge explosion at a house 120 miles south of Barcelona on Wednesday night is now being linked by police to the terrorist attack a day later. Police in Spain initially dismissed the explosion in Alcanar as a gas explosion. But on Thursday night, hours after the attack law enforcement revised their initial response. In Cambrils, Spain During a terror raid, Police in Spain say they shot and killed five people south of Barcelona while carrying out an operation in response to a terrorist attack on Thursday. Police detonated bomb belts carried by five suspects in the Cambrils attack.
The regional police for the Paca de Catalunya region said on early Friday that officers are in Cambrils, a seaside resort town 62 miles from Barcelona.
According to BBC News, police said they stopped a second alleged terror plot. Emergency officials say six civilians and one police officer were injured.
It was first reported that 12 people had died after a van plowed into a crowd of people; many were tourists. The number of the dead is now 13. The death toll rises to 15 people. A few weeks later after this article was posted; another person passed away.
One suspect is dead; two have been arrested. Number of those injured have been reported at 30, 50 or maybe even 100 people. 15 people are in critical condition. Two officers were rundown at a check point. Barcelona law enforcement said they suffered minor injuries and did not need to be hospitalized.
The State Department strongly encourages U.S. Citizens in Barcelona, Spain to contact friends and families back in the United States.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for this terrorist attack in a metropolitan area called Placa de Catalunya, a beautiful neighborhood mixed with modern, contemporary and historical architecture filled with hotels and tourists on the city’s famous Las Ramblas Boulevard. One of the suspects had only been in Barcelona for 3 days. Barcelona law enforcement officials have said this is a major attack involving more people as the investigation continues. Of course, the whole city is on high alert and officials have shut down the metro system.
It is difficult to see the aftermath on videos. The van was traveling about 50 miles per hour when it plowed through a crowd of innocent people.
