US Weakness Against Russia Will Put Taiwan in Harmâs Way: Sen. Cotton
From The Epoch Times By March 8, 2022
Natalieâs Commentary: Many in Congress, especially in the Senate, know Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas is exactly right.
Xi Jinping is responsible and pushing the limits of the United States and the European countries with Putinâs willingness to take over Ukraine with Russian military leaving behind a war torn country and hundreds of thousands of deaths not to mention the millions displaced refugees fleeing for their lives.
Putin wants as much to take over Ukraine as Xi Jinping is itching to take over Taiwan because of the semiconductor microchips the world and especially the United States is dependent upon.
At some point, Xi Jinping will decide to make his move and how prepared will Taiwan be? Enough to to put in place explosives surrounding the manufacturing parameters of all the semiconductor microchip factories. Will Taiwanâs President Tsai Ing-wen set the stage for the first and only boundary China will cross, warning Xi JinPing? âBomb us once and what you desire the most will go up in flames.â Taiwan then wonât look to appealing to China at this catastrophic juncture.
Of course the United States could do more to help this undesired fate that would be to start an impeachment process as soon as possible. The illegitimate Biden is beholden to Xi Jinping through a pay2play worth $31 million given to the Biden family through Hunter Biden from China. This was exposed in Peter Schweizerâs book âRed Handedâ.
The Secretary of the Department of Defense, Lloyd Austin and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley have already been exposed. Milley contacted Chinaâs General informing him that if the US was planning to attack, China and the CCP would be informed immediately. Biden, Austin, and Milley have committed treason.
Because of their treasonous alliance with Xi Jinping and the CCP, there is also one other frightening factor involving the sinister Democrats in a shadow government which includes Biden, Pelosi, Obama, and Soros at the helm, threatening a nuclear war with China to stop the GOP from winning in the coming midterm elections in November or if President Donald J. Trump decides to run for President again. Though, he is the 46th President. The election was stolen by Biden and his complicit and culpable co-operatives in the former Obama Administration, mainstream media ABC, CBS, and NBC and executives in social media, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts and the former Vice President, Mike Pence. Incredulous, how deep and insidious this corruption has extended itâs tentacles to the ends of the earth, threatening humanity. ~ Natalie Keshing
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) warned that Taiwan could be the next democracy invaded if the United States doesnât make Russian President Vladimir Putin pay for his âunprovoked, naked war of aggressionâ against Ukraine.
âJust as Putin watched Joe Bidenâs shameful retreat in Afghanistan, so now is China watching us today,â Cotton said during a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California on March 7.
âIf we fail to impose the steepest price for Russiaâs invasion, not only will Ukraine become a new captive nation, but soon Taiwan will also find itself in the crosshairs,â Cotton said. âIf Joe Biden wonât make him pay, then the Republican Party must.â
Russiaâs invasion of Ukraine has fueled speculation about the fate of Taiwan, and whether the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will be emboldened and invade the self-governing island soon.
Driving the speculation is that China might have Russiaâs support, if not militarily but at least politically, if Beijing does choose to invade Taiwan, considering how the communist regime has responded since the war in Ukraine began. So far, Beijing has refused to denounce Russia over its aggression, sided with Russian rhetoric and not called the attack an invasion, and abstained twice in United Nations votes.
Moscow has chosen to side with China over Taiwanâs sovereignty. In a joint statement released on Feb. 4 following a meeting between Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Moscow said âTaiwan is an inalienable part of Chinaâ and it âopposes any forms of independence of Taiwan.â
The statement also set the terms of the current SinoâRussian alliance, with a âno-limitsâ partnership and âno âforbiddenâ areas of cooperation.â
The Chinese regime reiterated its desire to take over Taiwan on Monday, when Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Taiwan âwill eventually return to the embrace of the motherland.â He also rejected comparisons between Taiwan and Ukraine, saying the former is âChinaâs internal affairâ while the Ukraine crisis is âa contention between two countries.â
Wang also accused the United States of trying to form an IndoâPacific NATO, echoing a key justification for Russiaâs invasion.
âNow China is our most dangerous enemy,â Cotton said. âThe Chinese Communist Party has committed every economic crime in the bookâproduct dumping, intellectual property theft, illegal subsidies, economic espionage, currency manipulation, even using slave labor.â
He said the U.S. decision to grant China permanent most-favored-nation (MFN) status was the âsingle worst mistake of this generation.â The status got a new name in 1998, becoming known as the permanent normal trade relations.
Former President Bill Clinton signed into law the U.S.âChina Relations Act of 2000, giving China its MFN designation while paving the way for Beijingâs accession to the World Trade Organization. The designation opened the U.S. market to Chinese products with trade advantages such as reduced tariffs.
âMany states like mine have lost a quarter of their manufacturing jobs. factories closed, families splintered, and opportunities crumbled,â the lawmaker said. âItâs time to end our economic reliance on China.â
Last year, Cotton and other Republican senators introduced legislation that would strip China of its trade status, in an effort to hold China accountable for its economic aggression and human rights abuses. Cotton introduced a similar bill in 2020.
âItâs time to decouple our supply chains. But decoupling is not enough,â Cotton added. âWe ought to ban U.S. investment in strategic Chinese industries, and encourage reshoring of U.S. factories and jobs, and punish offshoring to China.â
In February 2021, Cotton released a reportcompiled by his office, laying out a strategy for the decoupling of U.S. and Chinese sectors. Those areas include artificial intelligence, critical minerals, entertainment, higher education, investment, medicine and medical equipment, telecommunications, and semiconductors.
âWe are the party that tore down the walls of Russian communism and that will send Chinese communism to the ash heap of history,â Cotton concluded.
Hours before Cotton delivered his speech, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute announced it had awarded its prestigious Ronald Reagan Freedom Award to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his âcourageous fight against tyranny and for his indomitable stance for freedom and democracy.âÂ
