Senator Dianne Feinstein Employed A Chinese Spy for 20 years
Imagine the apoplectic visceral reaction if it emerged that the Republican chairman of the House or Senate Intelligence Committee had a Russian spy working on their staff.
It was announced on August 10, 2018 that Senator Dianne Feinstein had a Chinese spy on her staff who worked for her for 20 years. He was listed as an “Administrative Office Director” on payroll records and also served as her driver. When Feinstein was in San Francisco, all the while her Chinese spy was reporting to China’s Ministry of State Security through China’s San Francisco Consulate.
At the minimum, it sounds deeply disturbing and “Extremely Careless” or “Grossly Negligent”, take your pick. But in any case how could Feinstein not have noticed within a 20 year period that something about her Administrative Office Director was suspicious if she really didn’t know. Again, mainstream media’s lack of reporting and exposing this very important infiltration of our government’s classified and top secret information was too serious not to report it, considering nobody knew if any charges were going to be pressed and they weren’t.
Should Senator Dianne Feinstein have temporarily been suspended from her Senatorial duties while a thorough investigation by reputable FBI agents got to bottom of the potential breached classified information? I say YES!
Driver duties alone like in Mafia families, the boss’s driver was among the most trusted men in the crew, because among other things he heard everything that was discussed in the car. There were many phone conversations where Senator Feinstein discussed important and confidential information while her Chinese Spy driver was listening. Was a crime being committed by both Senator Feinstein and the Chinese spy? This really showed a lack of responsibility to be so reckless and conduct important phone call conversations of classified and top secret information only the Senator should have been privy to. I suppose the driver was also a very good actor to have maintained his position of spying for 20 years.
A former top CIA clandestine officer explained what the agency would do if they had recruited the driver of a senior official like Feinstein. “We would have the driver record on his phone all conversations that Feinstein had with passengers and phone calls from her car. If she left her phone, iPad, or laptop in the car while she went to meetings, social events, dinners, etc., we would have the driver download all her devices. Because the driver drove for her for 20 years, he would probably would have had access to her office and homes. We would have had the source put down an audio device in her office or homes if the opportunity had presented itself. Depending on the take from all of what the source reported, we would use the info to target others that were close to her and exhibited some type of vulnerability. In short, he added, “We would have had a field day.” I’m sure.
Former intelligence officials said that Chinese Intelligence recruited a staff member at the California Office of US Senator Dianne Feinstein and the source reported back to China about local politics. A spokesperson for Feinstein said her office didn’t comment on personnel matters or investigations.
Feinstein eventually acknowledged the infiltration but naturally downplayed its significance. Feinstein said, “Five years ago the FBI informed me it had concerns that an administrative member of my California staff was potentially being sought out by the Chinese government to provide information.” The breach took place while Feinstein was heading the Senate Intelligence Committee. She insisted her Administrative Office Director never had access to classified or sensitive information or legislative matters.” Now isn’t that contradicting what the FBI had already discovered and informed her about. I can’t imagine the look on the FBI’s faces when Feinstein was trying very unconvincingly to downplay this whole espionage incident. She must have been flabbergasted and speechless for at least several minutes while her mind was trying to wrap around this whole can of worms that exposed her and her Chinese spy for espionage. I imagined her life flashed by in a few seconds, imagining what life would be like behind bars. No more driver, no more cushy life that she had become very accustomed to.
In Zach Dorman’s report on foreign spying in Silicon Valley, he focused on the grand dame of intelligence oversight, the queen of surveillance, recklessly letting a foreign spy tag along with her for 20 years…he had his reservations, how could she have possibly not known?
So FBI showed up at Feinstein’s office in Washington, D.C. to alert the then chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee that her driver was being investigated for possible Chinese spying. Sources said, “Dianne was mortified”. Was Dianne mortified that her knowledge of employing a Chinese spy came to light or was she genuinely mortified that she had made the mistake of employing a Chinese spy without doing a thorough federal background check. I suppose she assumed that because of his limited duties he didn’t a security clearance and that gave him the key to a treasure of government owned information.
What should be alarming was how quickly this was handled and kept from the American public. When intelligence oversight members can’t keep from being spied on by staffers, there’s a problem.
Like Debbie Wasserman Schultz who employed the Pakistan Awan gang of five people who had access to Congress’s emails.
During this time, while Senator Feinstein’s Chinese spy was infiltrating and passing government secrets back to his sources a Chinese Company located in Washington DC was hacking former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s unsecured email server and made copies of her entire emails through the entire time she served as Secretary of State; about 4 years of government classified and top secret information.
And none of these espionage cases 1) Senator Feinstein; 2) Representative and Chairwoman for the DNC Debbie Wasserman Schutz; or 3) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were investigated professionally for espionage crimes. This kind of sweeping under the rug behavior on everyone’s part will certainly not deter the next government official who has a propensity to commit these kinds of serious crimes.
Three espionage crimes swept under the rug and kept from the American public. Of course if any information was going to be shared in any of these three cases it would be up to the FOIA Judicial Watch crime busters with the tenacity and funding to force the government to hand over documents dealing with the hidden espionage criminal cases. You can’t make this up!
