Donald Trump: Welcomes Bernie Sanders Supporters With Open Arms: ©Natalie Keshing
As I watched the news coverage of yesterday’s primary race, I thought of Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I noted how everyone in the news networks, the newspapers and the pundits have already counted the Superdelegates and were calling Hillary Clinton the presumptive nominee based on phone conversations made to each and every Superdelegate who they counted towards Hillary Clinton, now the elected Democratic nominee.
Everyone then and especially now are still asking for Bernie Sander’s support to bring the Democratic party together. To forget about the loyal Bernie Sanders voters who Mr. Trump is now calling to. Months back, I watched Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump very closely and they both clearly were identifying with the people (voters) at an emotional level and the needs for more help, more jobs, more health insurance, more educational opportunities, a more balanced socio-economic society, more acceptance of who we are as human beings, leaving out ethnic backgrounds, titles we think that define us and the prejudice that shows us that we are more, much more than that, regardless of our color and enriched cultural backgrounds.
You might all know that I am a big Bernie Sanders supporter and now – voter. I voted yesterday because that meant something more to me than anything else I could have accomplished yesterday. I watched just like all the other Bernie Sanders voters watched the primary. Numbers representing each of us as voters, being tallied up and at the end of this primary race Bernie Sanders wasn’t that far behind Hillary Clinton in many states. Given the time that Hillary Clinton started her campaign process which was maybe two years ago or even longer. She and her supporters started wooing the Superdelegates that have yet to be really counted until the Democratic Convention. Bernie is still with us and is taking us to Washington.
Mr. Trump has had a few setbacks based on his opinion of the judge who is presiding over his case. But I believe Mr. Trump is also feeling the pain of the Bernie Sanders voters where Superdelegates have no business in elections. The vote should come from the people, no politicians, no rich companies, no superPACs, no celebrities, no favors promised, just us, the true voters, the people of the United States of America.
A few months back, I even went as far as suggesting that Mr. Trump and Mr. Sanders come together to make a difference; to represent the American people that have voted for each of them on the Republican and Democratic side.
You might also know that I have vehemently written about Hillary Clinton who didn’t comply with policy and violated the most stringent national security laws of our country. Hillary Clinton committed a breach of national security and in turn changed our world forever.
I had also been a huge fan of President Obama until I started digging, investigating Hillary Clinton’s behavior and actions as former Secretary of State from 2009-2013. Now I am extremely disappointed in President Obama. Now I ask myself, “Why did he not fire Mrs. Clinton based on her breach of national security?” Why hasn’t the FBI pursued and brought this investigation and case to justice. WHO is holding them back?
So now I’m left continuing to believe in Bernie Sanders and yes Mr. Trump. He addressed this nation last night looking very Presidential and he made three very important promises to the American people and thanked his voters: 1) To everyone who voted for me throughout this campaign I want to thank you. I want to thank you very very much; 2) To those who voted for someone else in either party, I will work hard to earn your support. I will work very hard to earn that support; 3) To all of those Bernie Sanders voters who have been left out in the cold by a rig system of Superdelegates, we welcome you with open arms; 4) And by the way the terrible trade deals that Bernie was so vehemently against and he was right on that, we’ll be taken care off far better than anyone thought possible and that’s what I do, we are going to have fantastic trade deals we are going to start making money and bringing in jobs.
Mr. Trump, I still believe in you regardless of how the media and others are trying to portray you as a complete villain. I don’t see that in you at all. But I will tell you this, promise the Mexican American people that you will work hard to help them get their citizenship. Those who are working very hard in this country Mr. Trump and you know who these people are and what they have brought to this country and how they continue to work hard in this country for us, for them, and all our families.
At this point, I see only one way to help this nation that Mr. Trump asks Mr. Sanders to work with him. I knew it then (months ago) as I know it now. I guarantee that if pride is left at the door and we bring this nation together we will accomplish great things and win this election for the American people. ©Natalie Keshing
