“Mother I have seen the angel, there in the gold fields of hay.”
“Did he or she speak to you my son?” asked his mother
“Yes, he did. He said the world is ever changing and there is still a lot to look forward to.”
“He is wise and so we shall look forward from this day forward my son.”

Jacek Malczewsk
“He’s work is extraordinary. A painter and the father of Symbolism of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century in polish painting. Born 1854 – Died in 1929 in Cracow. As every artist through their words or art; they live eternally.” ©Natalie Keshing
One of the greatest and most recognized artists in the history of Polish art. In the early 90s the nineteenth century, his work initiated in the Young Poland painting trend of symbolism, at the same time stimulating the revival of the romantic tradition. A major impact on shaping the worldview and personality Malczewski had his father, Julian, who instilled in his son the ideas of patriotism and national messianism expressed most fully in the Polish Romantic literature. The sense of Polishness, sensitivity to the beauty of the native landscape and knowledge of local folklore has established a few years’ (1867-1871) Malczewski stay in the estate of his uncle Felix Karczewski in Wielgie where mentoring exercised over him Adolf Dygasiński, the future writer and journalist.
