The Holcomb family lost 8 members of their family in the shooting in Texas; 26 died and 20 were injured. The most alarming news is the Air Force did not inform the FBI about Kelley’s criminal record required by the Pentagon. The Texas gunman passed background checks due to Air Force error.
Here in the United States, we are facing domestic terrorist attacks in addition to radical Islamic terrorist attacks.
The deadliest mass shooting in Texas took place yesterday in a small rural church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. A place of worship and prayer for all those innocent lives attending mass. Their hopes lifted and their faith reaffirmed during mass. The innocent victims ranged from 18 months to 77 years old. The shooter had sent threatening texts to his mother-in-law who attended this church. Kelley beat his wife and child. The in-laws were not present in church on Sunday.
And before this, the first radicalized Islamic terrorist attack in New York City since 9/11, only blocks away from where the Twin Towers stood.
“It was a brisk bicycle ride on a beautiful fall day in Manhattan Soho. They were on their bikes along the waves of water near the shoreline with the ubiquitous breeze blowing on their faces. Taking in some sun. The smiles. The laughter. They were there to attend a high school reunion. Along the bike path, nearby mothers were pushing their children in their strollers. Schools were letting out the children to return home. And one crazed radicalized Islamic terrorist in a rented Home Depot truck entered from the west side plowing down a mile long path with pure evil in his mind running over and killing 8 people and seriously injuring others. ” ~ Natalie
Before this terrorist attack of pure evil, the deadliest mass shooting in American history took place in Las Vegas Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
All city law enforcement, mayors and Governors have to address and explain to the public the atrocities while remaining strong in these adversities. These are extreme challenges for the immediate families of their loved ones who were victims of a terrorist attack. No one could have predicted or stopped any of these massive shootings and running over bicyclists in the three terrorist attacks.
This has become a new normal of life. As American citizens, we are not only potential victims here in our homeland but anywhere we travel abroad. United State citizens became victims of a terrorist attack while walking on the London bridge, in Nice, France on Bastille Day, at the airport in Brussels, Belgium. It is imperative that we remain alert and aware of our surroundings in every public place and especially when traveling abroad.
In fighting the battle, the ISIS caliphate and its central intelligence has been decentralized in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. The radicalized terrorists are now distributed throughout Europe and the world. Terrorist attacks now beg the implementation of stricter travel bans from Muslim countries that pose a huge risk to our nation. Stricter vetting rules and getting rid of the Diversity Visa Lottery Program will help to reduce the terrorist attacks. The New York ISIS terrorist came to the US through the Diversity Visa Lottery Program allowing him to bring in 23 people who are now in the United States possibly posing a real danger in New York and New Jersey. The FBI’s priority should be to locate these individuals and question them; possibly sending them back not posing as another real danger to the American public.
