Mic Recording of Donald Trump and Billy Bush 10/08/16
Mic recording of Donald Trump and Billy Bush is all over the news and social media sites. The tape of Mr. Trump and Billy Bush talking about women in highly sexualized overtones. There’s plenty to digest, listening to the tape from Access Hollywood recorded almost eleven years ago. Everyone who has listened to the tape has ultimately come to their own opinions. Many, I’m sure were shocked and disappointed with the words that were used to describe a woman’s body. The shock comes from listening to someone else cross boundaries that as individuals we faithfully want to maintain.
The woman in the recorded scene was an actress who was there to meet Mr. Trump and Billy Bush when they stepped down from the RV where the mic recording had already taken place. She appeared to be delighted to meet both of them. She was tall and slender and was wearing a pink thin silk short dress. It appeared she wasn’t wearing a bra under her dress and that’s her prerogative and choice. Encouraged by Bill Bush the actress appeared comfortable and was delighted to give a normal hug to Mr. Trump and Billy Bush. Neither of the men touched or looked at her inappropriately.
There are beautiful women all over this world. In the entertainment business we’ve seen lots of videos from entertainers like Madonna, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus who often appear scantily clad; almost as little as they can get away with in the public eye. We see models that are 5’9″ that are extraordinarily thin, walking down the modeling runways with their bodies beautifully adorned in designer clothing. In general, most women love to feel beautiful. Most women love to dress up. Do their make-up, their hair and put something on that makes them feel beautiful. As a woman it can change your entire mood if you feel beautiful. That’s part of women’s physiological makeup. That’s also part of the media influencing a women’s and young girls minds.
The question being, how does a normal woman compare to other women who have gone through an extensive amount of plastic surgery to enhance or appear more attractive. Reality TV shows like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, New York, Atlanta, New Jersey all advertise these women’s lives who are wealthy and have had plastic surgery admitted publicly or not. Again, it’s their choice. Each of us as women, we have a choice to love ourselves and feel good and comfortable with our own bodies not allowing the hyped up entertainment media and plastic surgery to define our self images. But again it’s an individual choice and opinion.
I have talked about the fact that still to this day if you look at most TV commercials, TV programs, and movies there is usually a Caucasian actress who has the good fortune to be selected as an actress to play a given role in a commercial, TV program or movie. Most of these actresses have had surgical enhancement done to their faces or bodies; where plastic surgery changed their appearance. Many actresses like Susan Sarandon have openly talked about the very few roles or opportunities an actress in her 50’s or even in her 40’s are available to them to continue to act; to do the thing that they love best in their profession.
For some reason some societies as a whole don’t encourage the stories of women’s lives in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s. And yet still, so beautiful and plenty of life in them for a wonderful story in a movie to be told and shared. I personally enjoy foreign and independent films because they hire people, women in particular, who are depicting a real story. English actresses like Judy Dench, Vanessa Redgrave, Helen Mirren, and Maggie Smith continue to act; women well into their 50’s. It would be wonderful if Hollywood would change and be inspired by stories in movies or film based on a women’s life or experience as opposed to how young they should look to the audiences.
I read the many tweets of many women that responded to Billy Bush and Mr. Trump after listening to the tape. Many of these women had been groped, violated, touched when they were 12 years old or younger in public places. Girls who were children. There’s also the statistics that many women have been inappropriately touched or molested by a close family member or friend and not necessarily a stranger. The kind of men that are pedophiles; molesters, where they have no self control to prevent them from touching or violating a young girl or a young boy; children.
The Catholic church over a long period of time in the last 30-40 years did not admit that thousands of priests had touched, molested, violated, raped young men and young girls. Most of these priests were never arrested and tried for their crimes; but they were relocated over and over again by the Catholic church to stay ahead of this terrible insidious problem that eventually came to the public’s eye through the victims that could finally share their truth.
I, myself as a nine year old little girl was touched on my breast when I was so happy to greet a family member in a small room where feed for the animals on the farm was stored. I remember reacting and pushing that man as far as I could and I ran outside and never put myself in a position where I was alone with him again. Then I forgot about the incident for years, it wasn’t until I was closer to my thirties did I remember this experience that changed me forever.
In this election 2016 there is the most personal information that has and will continue to be exposed to the public eye; not only about nominee’s themselves, but about their spouses and family as well. Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. The Clinton Foundation accepting foreign donations totaling almost 100 Billion through “pay for play” deals with African oligarchs, rich executive billionaires, foreign adversaries promoting terrorism, and even 165 Billion dollars that the State Department when Hillary was Secretary of State negotiating and awarding to the FBI Director James Comey when he was Vice-President of Lockheed Martin accepting multiple contracts for arms sales to foreign countries and those foreign donors donating millions and millions to the Clinton Foundation. This was extremely important information to expose to the public. FBI Director James Comey had no business as a former employee of Lockheed Martin investigating Hillary Clinton on any of her scandalous and criminal behavior with her emails or the Clinton Foundation. James Comey knew all this and granted immunity to 5 of Hillary’s co-conspirators who were working in the State Department and the Clinton Foundation at the same time. Talking about a conflict of interest and yet none of this has been covered by the news media.
What Republican nominee Mr. Trump did wasn’t meant to be recorded and exposed eleven years later to the public. Is he a womanizer? I don’t know. Is he a man that loves beautiful women? I suppose. Is he a father, husband, friend, supporter, leader, entrepreneur, Presidential nominee? Yes, he is all of that.
How many of us have made the mistake of saying something hurtful and spiteful that we have regretted our actions, our words, and our feelings.
The hypocrisy in politics is a given standard and has been a favorite weapon to use against the opposite party in this election 2016; who turns around and admittedly can do the same.
None of us live without guilt, shame, sacrifice, challenges, experiences, hypocrisy, and behavior that is less then what we wanted to express during a tumultuous time in our lives. None of us is a perfect being.
The question is “Do you vote for a woman who has invited the world of rich company executives and United State’s foreign adversaries to “pay for play” and ignore top secret national security documents and more importantly put the American people’s national security in harms way?” or “Do you vote for a man who was exposed for an embarrassing and personal conversation with another man, but wants to protect the American people wholeheartedly and create a vital economy for all Americans to prosper.”
